Deputy Sheriff Paris Washington serves as the Chief Training Officer for the Sheriff’s Office in the City and County of Philadelphia.
He started his career in 1982 as a Correctional Officer for the Philadelphia Prisons System. In 1992, he received a promotion to the Sheriff’s Office where he now serves.
He holds instructor certifications in various disciplines, maintaining training credentials in issues of Counter Terrorism and Weapons of Mass Destruction to name a few.
He performs all training within the Office, and handles Protections from Abuse confiscations for the county and conducts community forums regarding Crime Prevention and provides training/lectures for the first Judicial District of Pennsylvania on issues pertaining to their safety at work and at home.
He conducts training workshops for the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of Pennsylvania serving as the Director of Training.
He is a committee member of the PCCD Philadelphia DMC committee presently working on programs to be used nationwide to increase positive and strong relationships between law enforcement and the youth in the community.
He has received numerous awards and commendations for outstanding service to the citizens of Philadelphia. |
